The series of Flip Camcorders has caught the imagination of would-be video makers everywhere and for good reason.

The Flip UltraHD camcorder continues the Flip Video’s signature shoot-and-share simplicity with the power of vibrant HD video. There is the familiar big red button on the back that controls recording and is assisted by a four way button system for zooming up and down and left / right to flip through menus and videos in playback mode.

The Flip Ultra is slightly bigger than its sister model, the Mino HD, but produces great HD 720p video for your HDTV. There is an included HDMI output for this function.

There is a bigger LCD screen, 2 inches, compared to the MinoHD that has a 1.5 inch screen and shoots 720p (1,280×720) high-definition video, compared to a less expensive Standard Ultra model, which shoots 640×480 VGA video.

The UltraHD has 8 GB of built-in memory which lets you capture 120 minutes of HD video compared to 4GB on the MinoHD. The resolution and frame rates for both cameras is 1280 x 720 at 30 frames per second.

So why consider the Flip Ultra HD? It is a solid all rounder and it’s simplicity and ease of use can’t be beaten. Where it may fall down is with its less than perfect audio which isn’t the greatest when compared to other compact camcorders.

Flipshare software enables you to edit and easily share your videos online complete with your favorite music and capture still images from your videos.
